It is so easy now-a-days...
Mostly I remember lugging in all that crap, but so many times it payed off in spades. I do remember my first Grateful Dead taping experience - It was at Alpine Valley. We were staying at a remote state park named "Richard H. Bong Recreation Area" (There was a lake and the jokes about swimming in Bong water are another story). Anyway, we left for the show early in the day, hung out by the car, caught a ride on some Gooney Birds, and only then did we realize we had left all the blank tapes at the campground !?! Those two boots we taped over were never missed (I think it was 5.9.77 - We replaced them a couple of years later with some grate Bettys:). The feeling of getting back to the car after the show and listening to those first recordings is something I will carry to my grave...
Those were the days.
